Tellico Plains to Robbinsville Hwy ::
Tellico Plains to Robbinsville Road, Graham County, NC: This design
for geogrid reinforced soil retaining walls with gabion facing elements
up to 39 feet high, were prepared to FHWA's guidelines and approved
for construction. A total of six walls, and over 25,000 square feet
in face area, were constructed using locally available soil at this
mountain site which had steep 1.5:1 to 2:1 (H:V) slopes above and below
the walls. |
