Southern Connector ::
Greenville Southern Connector: EIT prepared a Segmental Retaining Wall
design with construction drawings and specifications for over 40,000
sq. ft. of retaining wall that varied in height from 4 to 36 feet.
The project included 6 bridge abutment walls. Although the bridge loads
were supported on piles, 4 of the walls were part of integral abutments
which required the geosynthetic reinforcement to resist the lateral
loads applied by the piles. This was the first such application for
geosynthetic reinforced SRWs in North America. |
